About
Amanda Streeter is
an artist and teacher in London, England. She studied at St. Martins School of
Art and worked in the Fashion industry, the ‘in house’ designer for a high-street chain.
She returned to college in her late twenties and took a degree in painting at
Wimbledon School of Art. Since then she has taught part time at a boy’s
independent school in London, whilst continuing to make her own work.
Amanda creates work which is an expressive response to the landscape and people.
Fascinated by the practice of visionary artists, her own work is filled with
passion and colour. There is a sensual and intensely feminine quality present.
The poetry and writings of mystics are at the heart of her work.

Quotes
“Late, by myself, in the boat of myself,
No light and no land anywhere
Cloud cover thick. I try to stay
just above the surface, yet I’m already under
and living within the ocean.” Rumi
